Sleeping problems are common among people admitted to geriatric rehabilitation. However, sleeping well is crucial for a successful rehabilitation process. In this project, we are developing concrete tools in collaboration with healthcare professionals and the target group, which they can use to improve the sleep quality of the clients.

Objective

The aim of this project is to develop concrete tools to improve sleep quality that can be implemented throughout the continuum of care from hospital to geriatric rehabilitation to home. Subsequently, the usability of these tools will be tested with healthcare professionals and clients.

Results

  • Usable and accepted tools to improve sleep quality for clients in the continuum of care from hospital to geriatric rehabilitation to home
  • Implementation plan for these tools

Approach

Using Design Thinking and Intervention Mapping principles, we develop an intervention (toolbox) together with clients and healthcare professionals. The toolbox will be tested for usability and acceptance in a feasibility study. For this, we employ qualitative and quantitative methods.

Education impact

The developed toolbox is directly applicable in practice. Throughout the entire research project, teachers and students will participate in the study.
