Pieterbas Lalleman, MA RN, is both a nurse and an organizational sociologist. He gained his Bachelor of Nursing in 2000 and then studied at VU University in Amsterdam. For his master thesis he studied the diffusion of knowledge in teams of nurses and physicians and the role of trust and heedful interrelations.

Lalleman began his career at the Onze Lieve Vrouwen Gasthuis Hospital in Amsterdam and later worked as a nurse manager at Ziekenhuis Gelderse Vallei in Ede. In 2006 he started as a nurse educator at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
