Reint Jan Renes (born in 1970) was appointed professor of the PubLab research group (Cross-Media Communication in the Public Domain) on 1 September 2011. He studied Social and Organizational Psychology at Utrecht University and he was awarded a PhD in Social Psychology by the University of Amsterdam.
Until recently, he worked as associate professor in the Department of Communication Science at Wageningen University. As project leader in a range of applied projects, he worked specifically on the focused development and application of the results of scientific research, and this has also been evident in a number of his recent publications. He also has experience as a scientific advisor to various committees.
Reint Jan specializes in research into (health) communication and behavioural change. His research work includes quantitative and qualitative studies into the determinants of effective (cross-media) communication, the use of theory in Dutch lifestyle campaigns, the operation and effectiveness of behavioural interventions and the acceptance of food innovations by consumers.
