Drs. Marieke Welle Donker-Kuijer (1976) started working as a researcher for the Applied Research Methodology research group. She functions as the linking pin between the Faculty of Communication and Journalism and the research group.
Marieke’s PhD project focusses on ‘Heuristics and expert evaluation of municipal websites’. Heuristic evaluation is a popular method for website evaluation among website designers and communication professionals. However, despite the popularity of heuristics, few studies have focused on the use and the effects of these heuristics. This project will attempt to shed more light on these issues.
In addition to her research projects, Marieke teaches courses on research methodology and online marketing to students of the Digital Media and Communication program of the Faculty of Communication and Journalism.
