Dr. Jan Eberg is senior lecturer and researcher at the Department of Safety and Security Management Studies, Utrecht University of Applies Sciences, the Netherlands.
He graduated as sociologist of planning and policy, and has a PhD in policy science (University of Amsterdam). Former working places include the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, and the Universities of Twente and Utrecht.
Jan’s tenure encompasses lecturing, educational development, management, and research. He teaches social safety and security, and is a co-developer of research education and the minor Event Crowd Management. In addition, he is a member of the Graduation Committee, the Curriculum Committee, the Institute Management team, and the Professional Field Committee. In his position between education and research, Jan is responsible for the quality of the graduation trajectory of Safety and Security Management Studies, and for the co-operation and co-creation of education, research, and the professional field.
