Caroline Maessen came to work at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht in June 2012 as liaisons officer for the research group Human Experience & Media Design. Her task is to establish a dialogue between research and education. This must lead to high quality education based on current and practice based research as well as research themes focussed on needs and questions from the professional field for which students are being educated.

In her vision, high quality education connects with the natural curiosity of students. This viewpoint embraces research projects that connect professionals, researchers and students in a joint fascination. Students, that become intrigued, will push the boundaries of both themselves and their commissioners, who will become engaged as well.
